5 picture cards, one for each group of children. The idea is to get each group to talk about their picture and decide which story they think it’s from. At the end, each group announce which story they think their picture is from then show their card to the rest of the class to see if their pictures match up to the story they think it’s from. Ideal start of the day activity.

Resources to use in a Tuff Tray, table or floor. Place up to 8 rhyme endings around the edge and place up to the 35 pictures in the centre. Children then need to place the picture next to the correct ending. This activity can be reduced/increased in size before printing, to get your desired size, before laminating. You may also want to use it as a cutting and sticking activity.

This pack comes with 6, real, 2 letter words to make, 12 alien, 2 letter words to make, as well as 5 sets of SATPIN, letters. All words are created using using 2 letters from the SATPIN letters. The idea of this game is to place the word in the middle of the table and the children then create the word using the letters from their 6 letters. The beauty of the word in the centre of the table is that it is printed 4 times on the one card so no matter where you’re sitting the word is the correct way around to be read.

Week 1, day 3 of Phase 2, teaching the letter sound T. 12 Pages which includes, planning, t sound cards, flash cards and words to be taught so far, assessment grid, phase 1 recap game, Letter t writing as well as games and worksheets. Everything you should need to teach the letter t. Whenever I start a phonics lesson I always sing and sign the alphabet with the children. Doing it this way encourages the children to sing the song slowly and lessons the confusion when it comes to the… L, m, n, o, p part.

Using words from Phase 2 Phonics, I have created, 20 comprehension cards. Each card has one simple sentence and then 2 questions to answer. Child can read the sentence and then adult can read the question to them and the child can write their answers below. These could printed off and used as a quick group activity or laminated and used during child initiated time.
